Creative Coding
Fall 2023 | Professor Carl Lostritto
A series of tests identifying methods of code representation. The strengths and technicalities of code writing are used to develop images that investigate materiality, composition, and movement.
Software used: Processing (Python), Nodebox, Sublime Text
Echo
Spring 2021 | Professor James Rose
Project contributors: Alyza Zink, Lydia Pempek, Claire Wessberg, Lauren Goodwin
An early project targeted towards the scale of a singular body. Echo is a multipurpose piece constructed of narrow steel rods, with round spacers between layers of wood.
Reenvisioning World’s Fair Park Pavilion
Spring 2023 | Professor Maged Guergis
As an analysis of tensile structures, this short project sought to reenvision an existing pavilion in Knoxville, TN. The design features a central “spine”, with several contact points between the fabric and steel rods that work to form a textured center. Tensile structures span out from each side of the spine, covering the remaining areas of the theater space.
Representation
Spring 2021 | Professor Mark Stanley
The works displayed here are an assortment of projects, geared toward experimentation with representation tactics.
Project 1 | Music Box
Disassemble an artifact and model each member digitally. Curate a series of images that exude the personality of the artifact.
Project 2 | Daily Rituals
Select a series of daily rituals and photograph images that represent them. Consider emotions and aspects of the ritual.
Project 3 | Material Matrix
Utilize a series of words and create digital objects that embody those words. Utilize rendering tactics and Grasshopper program.
